30 Gladiolus ‘Ivory Priscilla’, planting depth 5 cm
30 Pennisetum villosum (annual ornamental grass)

Instructions: 
Start by planting the 30 Pennisetum villosum evenly over the surface. Among them, repeat the planting of the dahlias and gladioli in the following order: 3 Dahlia ‘White Aster’, 3 Dahlia ‘Kennemerland’ and 6 Gladiolus ‘Ivory Priscilla’. 

Time to plant: 
Starting in mid-May.

This is a recipe for pot with a diameter of 35 cm and a height of 25 cm.

Ingredients:
3 Zantedeschia ‘Captain Cupido’
shards or clay granules, potting compost

Instructions:
Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 10-cm layer of potting compost. Distribute the zantedeschias over the surface and fill to the rim with potting compost. 

Time to plant: 
Starting in mid-May. Zantedeschias remain attractive even after flowering because of their beautiful leaves.

This is a recipe for a 75 x 15 cm container.

Ingredients:
5 Begonia ‘Crispa’
10 Oxalis triangularis
shards or clay granules, potting compost

Instructions: 
Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 5/10-cm layer of potting compost. Distribute the begonias over the surface and plant the oxalis between them and at the edges of the container. Fill to the rim with potting compost.

Time to plant:
Starting in mid-May.

30 Lilium regale ‘Snow Queen’, planting depth 7 cm
20 Dahlia ‘Karma Serena’, planting depth 2 cm
15 Gladiolus ‘Sophie’, planting depth 5 cm

Instructions:
Distribute the dahlias evenly over the surface and then distribute the gladioli and lilies as evenly as possible among them.

Time to plant: 
Starting in mid-May. This combination can be made even more special by sowing Nigella hispanica ‘African Bride’ (annual white Love-in-a-Mist) among them.

7 Dahlia ‘City of Alkmaar’, plant just below the soil surface
7 Dahlia ‘Chat Noir’, plant just below the soil surface

7 Dahlia ‘Crazy Love’, plant just below the soil surface
30 Gladiolus ‘Spic and Span’, planting depth 5 cm

Instructions: 
Distribute the dahlias and gladioli as a random mixture over the entire surface.

Time to plant: 
Starting in mid-May.

Ingredients:
1 Dahlia ‘Bishop of Auckland’
shards or clay granules, potting compost

Instructions: 
Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 15-cm layer of potting compost. Plant the dahlia and then fill the container to the rim with potting compost. You could also use an annual (3 Ipomoea batatas ‘Marguérite’) as an accent around the outer edge.

20 Crocosmia ‘George Davison’
shards or clay granules, potting compost

Instructions:
Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 5/10-cm layer of potting compost. Distribute the crocosmias over the surface and then fill the container to the rim with potting compost. You could also supplement the crocosmias with annuals such as 4 Ipomoea batatas ‘Blacky’ or 6 Tagetes tenuifolia.

Time to plant crocosmias:
Starting in April. Planting annuals starts in mid-May.

This is a recipe for a border of 6 square meters.

Ingredients:
50 Gladiolus ‘Mediterranee’, planting depth 5 cm
50 Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’, planting depth 5 cm

Instructions:
Combine both varieties and scatter them as a mixture over the surface.

7 Begonia (red tuberous hybrids)

Instructions: 
Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 5/10-cm layer of potting compost. Distribute the begonias over the surface and then fill the container to the rim with potting compost. You could also supplement the begonias with an
annual as an accent: 4 Stipa tenuissima distributed among the begonias.

This is a recipe for a border of 6 square meters.

Ingredients:
10 Dahlia ‘Karma Serena’, plant just below the soil surface
25 Gladiolus ‘Victor Borge’, planting depth 5 cm
60 Crocosmia ‘Red King’, planting depth 5 cm

Instructions: 
Distribute the dahlias first and then the gladioli evenly over the surface. Scatter the crocosmias among them. Plant the corms and tubers. If you want, add an annual ornamental grass such as Pennisetum villosum or Stipa tenuissima.

Starting in mid-May.

3 Agapanthus ‘Polar Ice’
3 Eucomis comosa ‘White Dwarf’

Instructions:

Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 5/10-cm layer of potting compost. Distribute the begonia tubers over the surface and then fill to the rim with potting compost. You could also plant 3 Helichrysum petiolare ‘Silver’ among the begonias as an accent.

This is a recipe for a border of 6 square meters in which a basic planting of Alchemilla mollis (Lady’s Mantle) and Allium ‘Early Emperor’ have been planted the previous autumn.

Ingredients:
50 Gladiolus ‘White Friendship’, planting depth 5 cm
40 Alchemilla mollis (Lady’s Mantle)
25 Allium ‘Early Emperor’

Instructions:
Distribute the gladioli over the surface and plant them carefully among the previously planted alchemilla and allium.

5 Ornithogalum ‘Mount Everest’
8 Gladiolus nanus ‘Elvira’

Place the shards or clay granules on the bottom and then add a 10-cm layer of potting compost. Arrange the ornithogalum in the middle and the gladioli along the edge. Fill to the rim with potting compost.
